Immunization Information Systems (IIS), also known as immunization registries, are a critical technology asset for public health. They track immunization rates with in a state or region and help individual people keep track of their immunization histories. The primary goal of this project is improve the technological capital available to IIS located in the United States. The efforts of this project are focused on:
- Demonstration - Show how open source can accelerate national standards.
- Template for the Future - Create framework for permanent open source projects.
- "Get 'er Done" - Create real solutions that we can use now.
1 Software Developer
Nathan Bunker has worked for the past 9 years as a software developer on dozens of immunization registry projects. Now he is working to establish a permanent open source project that will benefit all IIS projects across the nation.
3 Project Phases
- 100 Days of Code - April through September 2012
- Coalition Building - Establish official support for open source efforts.
- Active Support - Transition efforts to permanent technical team.

Rules:
- Spend 100 days focused on one of the 7 software projects.
- Complete work by September 28, 2012.
- Work the first 4 hours of each day before checking todo tasks and email.
- No travel until after 100 days are completed.
- Document work completed each day publicly on this website.
